Microsoft shows OneDrive advertisements in Windows 10 File Explorer

Internet users are complaining about OneDrive advertisements in the File Explorer of Windows 10. Microsoft calls the ads 'Sync provider notifications' and offers an option to turn them off.

In the ad, Microsoft offers an Office 365 subscription with 1TB OneDrive storage for $6.99 a month. It's unclear how Microsoft picks the users to show the ad to, not all Windows 10 users receive them and even users who already have an Office 365 subscription are targeted.

The advertisement can be disabled by clicking the File menu in the top left of the File Explorer, then click 'Change folder and search options', navigate to the 'View' tab and uncheck 'Sync provider notifications'.
