On the Community page users complain since Tuesday night about their  mail issues. Users are unable to synchronize their mail and also can't send emails. It's unclear how many users are affected by the problems.

Microsoft recognizes on the Outlook status page to have issues, the company writes, "We are aware that users of the following mail clients are experiencing issues syncing and sending email. We are working on the issue and expect resolution in the next 24 hours. - Windows Live Mail - Outlook Connector - MSN Premium client. - Windows Phone 8.1 - Windows 8 Mail Client"

Despite that the company appears to be working hard on resolving the issues it appears it's not near yet. It's not the first time Microsoft has longtime issues with Outlook.com. In 2013 the mail service suffered from a long downtime, the culprit was found to be an overheated datacentre.
