Windows 8.1 update 1 more mouse friendly - show leaked screenshots

More screenshots of Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8.1 update 1 have leaked by Russian hacker group WZOR. The screenshots reveal how the right mouse button brings more options for Metro application tiles. Users can now resize and pin applications with a right click. Also a right click on applications in the file explorer allows users to pin application to the Metro Start menu.

The entire update appears to be an attempt to make Metro more usable for mouse users. Also in applications the right mouse button should give more options to users. Microsoft has also added a search and power button  to the Start Menu, to make it easy to search for applications and a more obvious way to shutdown the system.

According to Microsoft watcher Mary Jo Foley will the Windows 8.1 update not be released in April this year, as WZOR claims. Instead she think it will be as early as March this year. This would be March 11 which is a date part of Microsoft's regular patch sequence, it's a Patch Tuesday date.

Microsoft wachter Paul Thurrott also recently added additional information on the upcoming update. According to him it will be possible to close Metro applications with a close button when the mouse is used. Currently this can only be done by moving the mouse in the left top corner and close the app from there.
