Microsoft is planning to release its digital personal assistant Cortana also for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, according to Reuters. According to the press agency Microsoft is also working on a smarter version of the assistant.
Microsoft previously hinted that Cortana would not only become available on Microsoft's platforms and Reuters reports, based on unmentioned sources, that the application will soon also become available for OS and Android user. When Cortana will become available for these mobile operating systems is unclear. Earlier Microsoft already announced a desktop version of Cortana for Windows 10, initially the assistant was only available for Windows Phone.
Reuters also reports that Microsoft wants to make Cortana more intelligent and that it aims to let the assistant respond better to what an user wants. A project called "Einstein" should ensure that users will be warned when they have to leave from home to be on time for their flight. The assistant should notice the user has booked a flight and then determine how long it takes for the user to get to the airport.
