Microsoft has withdrawn an update to Visual Studio which the company released yesterday. Lots of users complained on the Microsoft Forums and Twitter that installation of update KB3001652 for Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime caused hanging systems.
Some users had to use system restore to fix the issues. The update didn't fix security issues but was a collection of non-security related patches. Microsoft recommends users to not install the update.
Microsoft had to withdraw several updates the last couple of months, in August last year an update to Windows 8.1 caused boot failures, in September the company withdrew an update for Lync and in November last year an SSL update caused issues.
