Mobile app demand to explode by 2012

A new study done by app store GetJar reports the demand for mobile apps will drastically increase over the next two years, with the market's predicted value to reach $17.5 billion in 2012.

GetJar hired Chetan Sharma Consulting to evaluate the app market, as GetJar is the second largest app store in the world.  Chetan Sharma estimates that the mobile app market will grow from $4.1 billion this year up to $17.5 billion by 2012.
