CES 2010: Monster introduces Beats Solo HD headphones

Headphones and earbuds designed for MP3 players and home audio enthusiasts have been popular during CES, when Monster introduced the Beats Solo HD headphones.

The Beats by Dr. Dre line from Monster, an expensive, higher-quality audio product line, continues to roll out new products  for music listeners.  The Beats Solo HD headset, with a $229.95 MSRP, is the second-generation of the original Beats Solo headphones.

The new headphones have an improved tri-fold design, new acoustic enhancements, and improved audio playback.

Monster expects to release the Beats Solo HD headphones in March.

Also announced during CES, Monster introduced the pricey Diddy Beats earbuds that will be released with a $179.95 MSRP.  Both Dr. Dre and Diddy were in Las Vegas to introduce the new products catering to a very particular group of consumers with deep pockets.

The Diddy Beats ship with a Monster ControlTalk cable that is able to provide music playback control and hands-free capabilities for the Apple iPhone.

Late last year, Monster and Lady Gaga partnered for the glamorous Heartbeats headset, with additional artist-inspired products expected.

I've tested the Beats by Dre headphones and ear buds at convention shows and several stores, but haven't used them in a quiet environment.  Even in a loud auditorium or store, the noise cancellation feature of the Monster products is evident.  The sound quality is good, but I'm still unsure if any of the Monster headphones or earbuds are worth the steep price.
