N2Aos turns your cheap Kindle easily into a full Android tablet

N2Aos allows Android to be installed on their Kindle Fire including millions of  applications in the Google Play store. Once the software is installed on the Kindle it has become an Android tablet running Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2.  The developers also provide software to return the tablet to stock.

The Kindle is relative cheap Android tablet because Amazon is subsidizing it. The company hopes to make money from the tablet as users purchase e-books and music through Amazon services. While the Kindle OS is build on Android,  Amazon has pretty much removed all references to Google and replaced them with links to itself.  And Amazon's eco-system is not as advanced as that from Google. N2Aos solves this problem by making it easy to install Android on a Kindle.

Although the software is based on the free and open-source Android fork Cyanogenmod that also allows Android on a Kindle, it's not free.  The software is available for $19.99 for which you get an easy way of installing the software on your Kindle.

While after a successful installation you gain access to the millions of applications in the Google Play Store, you lose some exclusive function from the Kindle. The exclusive apps for the Kindle Fire will not work on N2Aos and also the Kindle Owners'Lending Library will not be available. The Immersion Reading feature of the Kindle Fire Generation 2, Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 is not available for the Kindle Reader for Android app but the developers stress that there are apps for Android for listening to Kindle eBooks which will give you similar features.
