Nero announces streaming to Xbox One in Nero 2014

Nero today announced that their multimedia software Nero 2014 also supports streaming of videos, photos, and slideshows to the Xbox One. The company decided to develop this software because users of  Microsoft's recently released console can't play back media content from USB sticks or external hard drives connected to the Xbox One.

While Microsoft might add this feature in the future with Nero 2014 there is  an alternative solution.  With the "Play To" feature and Nero 2014, it's possible to conveniently stream multimedia content from Windows devices to the Xbox One.

To stream the content the Xbox One has to connect to a Windows PC with Nero 2014 installed over Wi-Fi.  The console then becomes available in Nero 2014 MediaHome  as target device for streaming.  With the same feature it's also possible to access content stored on CDs, DVDs, or Blu-ray discs on tablets and mobile phones without worrying about the format and resolution.

Nero 2014 was released in September. The suggested retail price is 79,99 euro, Nero 2014 Platinum is available for 99,99 euro, get it here. Read our review on  Nero 2014 here.
