Nero promises truly unlimited backup storage with BackItUp 2014

Nero today announces the launch of BackItUp 2014, a service for  backing up content from PCs, Android tablets and smartphones to both local disks and online storage.  Nero BackItUp 2014 comes as a free backup starter package (manual backup suite plus 5 GB online drive) or a 1-year-subscription which includes automatic backup software and online storage with infinite disk space.

The service supports Windows PCs and all Android devices. Nero plans iOS and Windows Phone 8 apps for the near future.

With Nero BackItUp 2014 Unlimited Pro you can backup your data to 4 local targets: USB drives, built-in hard disks, NAS and DVDs/Blu-rays. The Android backup allows you to store photos, videos, music, contacts, call logs, messages and system settings on SD cards, PCs (via Wi-Fi) or Nero's servers.  Nero promises you get 'truly infinite' online storage, no matter if you want to store 50 GB, 500 GB, 50 TB or more . The company claims it will not cut off its users or limit bandwidth.

A single Nero BackItUp online drive backs up to 5 PCs and an unlimited amount of smartphones and tablets. Nero also support compression of the files and AES-256 encryption.Files can be accessed from a password protected web page and you can stream video and music from Nero's online storage from everywhere.

The Unlimited Pro plan is currently at an introductory price of € 49,99/ year. If you don't want to spend money, Nero also offers 5GB free storage. This requires you to manually backup your data but still allows you to access your data from the web.

Nero stresses that your data is safe with them, the company claims to have 100 million backup users and more than 18 years of experience in backup data.
