The partnership between Netflix and Sony Electronics was announced in July. Separately, Netflix and Sony Computer Entertainment America announced a partnership to make thousands of movies and TV episodes from Netflix available to be streamed instantly to TVs via the PS3.

Specific Sony models now capable of streaming content from Netflix - after a firmware upgrade - include the Sony BRAVIA TV W5100, Z5100, XBR9, and XBR10 series in 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch screen sizes; the Sony N460 Network Blu-ray Disc Player; and Sony's BRAVIA Internet video link module when used with compatible BRAVIA TVs.

Netflix currently offers more than 12,000 streaming titles via devices such as the PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Roku digital video player, LG and Samsung Blu-ray players and TiVo.
