Netflix wraps up content in new 'Holiday Favorites' section

Netflix may not have much to celebrate this holiday season thanks to low stock prices and mass subscriber losses. However, the streaming video giant has refused to be a grinch, adding a special Christmas-themed section to its website.

Netflix Vice President of Product Innovation Todd Yellin announced the festive addition to the service's browsing experience on Monday.

Seasonal classics including multiple versions of "Miracle on 34th Street" and "A Christmas Carol" are now front-and-center in a new "Holiday Favorites" section. Infamously hit-or-miss Christmas TV specials aren't being ignored, either.

"We're highlighting episodes that capture the full range of holiday moods - goofy, heartwarming, cynical, uplifting - with unforgettable TV episodes from 30 Rock, Roseanne, Arrested Development, South Park, The Andy Griffith Show, Family Ties, etc.," said Yellin, adding that he was especially excited to see a special "The Twilight Zone" Christmas special starring Art Carney make the cut.

Dedicated Netflix news blog Hacking Netflix said its only checked out the new section via PlayStation 3, Wii, Roku streaming media player and, of course, the official website. The company made no mention of supporting its Nintendo 3DS and Xbox 360 app.
