Next Android version may break root apps

According to an Android developer, several prominent and widely used root apps may cease functioning after the next Android update.

In a Google+ post that is no longer accessible, and following a sneak preview of the code, Android root app developer Chainfire found evidence suggesting that many popular root apps may no longer work under the next version of Android.

It's not clear at this stage whether the code will be part of Android 4.5 or 5.0 however it will apparently lock down an area in memory used by many root access apps, generating an access denied error when they're run.

There are ways around this but when the next version of Android is released there may be some delay before the app producers catch up.
