No Gmail and Drive apps for Windows 8

Google has decided not to develop Gmail and Drive apps for either Windows 8 or the Windows 8 phone platform.  Clay Bavor, head of product management at Google, delivered this message:  "We have no plans to build out Windows apps. We are very careful about where we invest and will go where the users are but they are not on Windows Phone or Windows 8.  If that changes, we would invest there, of course."

Google's apparent disdain for Windows 8 is simply a reflection of the lack of interest in the operating system by their business clients.

Google will instead, push to improve its position in the  iOS and Android markets.  They have laid the groundwork in these operating systems in 2012, and this is where they plan on investing most of their research and development in mobile apps during 2013 .   Google sees an enormous shift towards mobile connectivity in the workplace, and use of the cloud is becoming more and more accepted in business environments.  And not only accepted, but becoming a primary tool for business.
