OCZ announces JetExpress SSD controller and Vector 180 Series SSDs

OCZ  today announced the JetExpress SSD controller. The controller is designed and developed by OCZ and will become the controller in future OCZ SSDs, the Vector 180 Series SSDs will feature onboard Power Failure Management.

The JetExpress controller will showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and is native SATA and PCIe/NVMe. The controller will support multiple form factors including M.2, 2.5-inch SATA, and SFF-8639 which enables PCI Express speeds in a compact 2.5-inch form factor. The architecture of JetExpress is designed to offer improved flash endurance empowering SSDs to continue down the path to ubiquity in both mainstream notebooks and hyperscale data centers.

Also being unveiled this CES is the OCZ Vector 180 series which will be launched at the beginning of 2015. The Vector 180 series SSD are targeted at enthusiasts and will come with an onboard Power Failure Management Plus (PFM+) feature. This feature will prevent any data loss due to power failures.

The Vector 180 line will be offered in 120GB, 240GB, 480GB, and a new 960GB model. The company hasn't disclosed more information, we expect more to come during the next days.
