OCZ announces RD400 PCIe NVMe SSDs - 2,600 MB/s reads and 1,600 MB/s writes

OCZ today announced its new RD400/400A PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD that has specified sequential read and write speeds of respectively 2,600 MB/s and 1,600 MB/s. The RD400/400A series is available in capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1024GB.rd400_aic_front_lrg.03152016

The drives contain Toshiba's 15nm MLC NAND combined with Toshiba's TC58NCP 8-channel controller. Besides the mentioned sequential read and write speeds, the drive is able to achieve random read and writes of 210,000 and 140,000 IOPS respectively.

Interfaces of the drive are PCIe Gen3X4L and NVMe Revision 1.1b and the Mean Time to Failure is specified at 1.5 million hours. The RD400 fits in a M.2 socket, while the RD400/A in a PCIe slot.

OCZ provides a 5 year Advance Warranty which means that you can return a faulty drive after you've received a new one. The company hasn't provided a release date but the MSRPs are $109,99 for the 128GB drive, $169.99 for the 256GB drive, $309.99 for the 512GB drive and $739.99 for the 1024GB drive.
