OCZ continues to use SSD controllers of its competitors

OCZ has recently said that it will continue to use controllers developed by its competitors. This means the company will not solely use controllers from the company Indilinx which OCZ acquired in 2011.  The company has only one controller in development at any time and according to OCZ CEO Ralph Schmitt it's not possible to meet the demands of the entire market with one controller chip. That is the reason why the company has decided to continue to use controllers from competing companies.

Obviously the Indilinx Barefoot controller is the preferred chip for OCZ. According to the company their own controller makes it possible to use different types of NAND memory without having to wait for developments from other companies. Also the development of firmware is easier for their own product.

Unfortunately OCZ hasn't disclosed any information on any upcoming SSD controllers.
