Office 16 will be released in the second half of 2015 - for mouse and keyboard users

Microsoft has announced that Office 16 will be released this year. The Office 16 Suite will be more comprehensive than Office for Windows 10 and is best suited for PCs with a keyboard and mouse.

The next generation of the Office Suite should become available in the second half of 2015 and that's pretty much all we know. "We will have more to share on Office 2016 in the coming months", writes Julia White, General Manager of the Office Product Management Team.

The successor of Office 2013 will have a dark theme and a Clippy like assistant, according to rumors. However Office 16 will also resemble the current Office Suite. Wednesday Microsoft revealed more details on Office for Windows 10. This version will significantly differ and will developed with touchscreens and small displays in mind.

Office for Windows 10 will be pre-installed for free on phones and small tablets running Windows 10.  Users of others devices will be able to download them from the Windows Store when available.

Windows Insiders that have installed Windows 10 Technical Preview will get access to the Office Universal Apps in the coming weeks.
