OneDrive allows to upload and stream your own music - up to 50,000 tracks

Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, now allows users to upload up to 50,000 music tracks and stream them to other devices. Google offers the same functionality in its Play Music Service for some time already. The music from OneDrive can be played back on smartphones and Xbox consoles.

Microsoft announced the feature on its own site. Users can upload their MP3 collection to OneDrive after which it becomes possible to play them through a Xbox app on the PC, Xbox console and smartphones running iOS, Android or Windows Phone.

In order to fully utilize the feature, users need to have sufficient free space on their OneDrive account. For most users that shouldn't  be an issue. Although OneDrive offers 15GB by default, Microsoft has offered several actions allowing users to temporarily increase their storage capacity. For Office 356 users it's even easier, they have unlimited OneDrive storage.

Microsoft has limited the service to 50,000 songs for now. The feature to upload your own music has been part of Google Music for some time already, users can upload their tracks using the Google Play Music Manager application for desktops.
