Pioneer announces worlds thinnest portable Blu-ray burner

Pioneer Japan has announced the BDR-XU02J, according to Pioneer world's smallest and thinnest portable burner. It's a slot loading device which means there is no tray to insert the disc but discs are inserted directly to the device. The measurements of the drive are 12 mm height, 133 mm width and 133 mm depth and it comes in a thin magnesium case. The BDR-XU02J writes single and double-layer BD-R discs at 6X, triple- and quad-layer ones at 4X,  DVDs up to 8X, and CDs up to 24X.

The drive can be powered by an USB port but power from an optional AC adapter is possible. The BDR-XU02J comes with a stand in which you can put the drive as shown on the picture above. It should become available at the end of this month, unfortunately Pioneer has not disclosed any pricing information.
