Playstation 4 also lets you pay for used games - thanks to game publishers?

Sony is reportedly also implementing a system to control the sales of second hand games. While users around the net are badmouthing Microsoft, Sony remains silent. But the the Japanese electronics giant is likely also planning to let users pay if they want to play a game that was  installed on another console before.

An installation will be tied to an user account and if transferred the new user has to purchase a new activation code. It's unclear if that will be the same price as a new game or with a certain discount.

According to game journalist and industry insider Geoff Keighley are Microsoft and Sony both planning to implement such system. And while both console manufacturers might seem the bad guys, it's more likely that game publishers are the ones who've demanded such a feature.

Keighley also added that if an user has to pay for second hand use of a game on the Xbox One, the publisher likely also wants it to pay for second hand use on the Playstation 4. So it seems both consoles have the same policy,  the main difference  copy protection so far seems to be that the  Xbox One needs to connect to the internet once a day, while the Playstation 4 doesn't have the same requirement.
