Office 2016 is now available for testing. Previously only a select group of users was able to try the Office suite. The successor of Office 2013 is more extensive than Office for Windows 10.
Users who want to download Office Technical Preview need to subscribe to Microsoft Connect and select the software from a list of products. Microsoft also requires testers to sign a nondisclosure agreement in which they state to not publicly disclose any information about the Office suite.
Microsoft announced Office 2016 at the end of January, the software should become available in the second half of 2015. The software doesn't contain much new functionality compared to Office 2013, however Microsoft worked hard on the interface, there is a darker theme and a Clippy like assistant.
Last week Microsoft made Office for Windows 10 available. This Office version is optimized for touchscreens and will be preinstalled on smartphones and small tablets running Windows 10.
