Mobile storage remains a problem for some iPhone users, especially those who bought 16GB versions of those popular phones. Sandisk has come up with a new solution for those Apple customers, a phone case with built-in storage. These cases connect to the phone using the Lightning port, and can expand storage capacity by as much as 128GB.
The new case is called the iXpand Memory Case and is available now from Amazon for $59, $99 and $129, depending on which capacity you choose, from the 32GB, 64GB or 128GB options. The cases are available in four different colors, including red, sky blue, mint green and gray. There is an optional 1900mAh battery pack that can be attached to the case, but it will cost an additional $40.
Since Apple makes it difficult to add memory to their equipment, you will also have to download an app made by Sandisk to make the expanded memory work with your phone. It is available for free from this link.
There is one other small fly in the ointment. The case only works for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. If you have an older iPhone, or the larger iPhone 6 Plus or 6S Plus, the case will not work for you.
