Up to 100,000 Blu-ray copies of Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan have been recalled due to audio sync problems.
Part of Paramount Home Entertainment's Sapphire Series, the Blu-ray movie's audio fault has been blamed on Technicolor, the company which transfers films to the Blu-ray format.
An updated version of the Blu-ray movie will be available by 18 May, with a yellow UPC sticker on the back to indicated that it is the new version.
Technicolor has set up toll-free numbers for consumers who have already purchased the Saving Private Ryan Sapphire Series Blu-ray, which provides details on how they can receive a replacement copy — US and Canada: 888-370-8621, UK: 08000-852-613. Consumers can also return the Blu-ray movie to the store of purchase to receive a replacement.
