The highest resolution currently available on commercially available smartphones, with a 16:9 display ratio, is 2560 x1440 pixels, which can be found on e.g. the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G3. The Chinese Meizu MX4 Pro has a resolution that's slightly higher, 2560x 1536 pixels.  Sharp's 4K smartphone display was announced during CITE 2015, a Chinese technology exhibition held last weekend.

The screen has 806 pixels per inch, which results in a diagonal of 5.47", making it the highest pixel density of a screen currently available. According to Sharp, the screen has a RGB layout and will go in mass production next year which makes it likely the company will also release its first 4K smartphones next year.
