During CES 2014 Sharp showed its SH-WH-1000U, Universal Player which is able to playback Blu-ray, DVD, CD and Super Audio CDs. The device also support WiSA (Wireless Speaker and Audio) which makes it possible to wirelessly connect to speakers. This technology makes it possible to send uncompressed audio and video over the air.

The Sharp Universal Disk Player SD-WH-1000U support a maximum of 8 channels (7.1 surround) of 96 Khz/24bit audio. Also video (1080p) can be wirelessly transmitted. The device has three HDMI inputs, two USB ports and Ethernet. With a bridge device it's possible to connect the Universal Player to speakers with wires.
