Supertalent has announced a new line of mSATA SSDs. The mSATA 3 series are available in capacities ranging from 30 to 120 GB and are mainly targeted for use in tablets. Unfortunately the company hasn't disclosed much information about the new SSDs but it lists some performance numbers.

According to Supertalent the drives should also be able to achieve read speeds of 550MB/s and write speeds of 500 MB/s. Depending on the model they  use either synchronous or asynchronous MLC flash memory and we guess that the controller is a Sandforce 2241 as the datasheet lists SF2241 as 'Technology'.

The drives should have a mean time before failure (MBTF) of 2 million hours, which according to the company is good for 200 years of around the clock use.The SSDs main use will be as an upgrade for netbooks or tablets with SSDs. It's unknown when the drives will become available and at what price, but most mSATA SSDs of 120-128 GB are less than $100.
