Super Talent Technology today announced their RAIDDrive II Plus PCIe SSD which is able to achieve read and write speeds of up to 3200 MB/s. Those speeds are achieved by using the PCIe x8 interface, MLC NAND, a 1 GB onboard DDR2 SDRAM which acts as a cache and a SandForce controller.
The RAIDDrive II Plus is targeted at enterprise users and combines multiple SSDs in RAID in a custom form factor measuring 231.5 x 94.0 x 20.6 mm. The drives also provide a redundant flash image for adapter availability as well as NVRAM for RAID configurations and a transaction log.
If you're interested in buying then don't skip the following lines. The company hasn't disclosed any pricing details but currently SuperTalent sells a 2 TB RAIDDrive II (without the plus addition) for nearly $7000 (be fast, only 2 in stock, but hey free shipping!). Expect these new drives to be more expensive.
