Digital security company Symantec and American clothing company Betabrand have developed a jeans and blazer with pockets containing a RFID-blocking fabric. The clothes should prevent hacking of RFID cards and passports. More and more cards are equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips and criminals are able to read them using special RFID scanners.
It's expected that in 2015 more than 70% of all credit cards will support RFID making them an interesting target for hackers. Betabrand and Symantec decided to work together and develop the first jeans and blazer that block RFID signals.
The "READY Active Jeans" and "Work-It Blazer" have two pockets lined with special RFID-blocking fabric. The jeans ($151) and blazer ($148.50) should ship in late February 2015.
