TDMore removes option to decrypt AACS protected Blu-rays

The relative new Chinese movie backup software developer TDMore has removed the option to decrypt AACS protected Blu-ray discs. Earlier this year also DVDFab removed AACS decryption from their software. Currently only AnyDVD HD is the only paid software that removes the AACS copy protection from Blu-ray discs.

DVDFab removed the functionality from their software after the copyright consortium AACS-LA tried to shut down the company earlier this year. Based on an injunction from an US court the AACS-LA was able to take down DVDFab's .com domain, payment processors and social media accounts.

Apparently TDMore wants to protect itself from the same faith and has removed the AACS decryption feature from their software. It's unclear whether the developers of the software have received a threat from the MPAA-LA or whether the company removed the AACS feature out of precaution.

Users currently complain on our forums that the software no longer supports AACS decryption out of the blue. TDMore hasn't informed users about the move and some users complain the software no longer does as advertised when they bought the software.

DVDFab currently already recommends to use AnyDVD HD (if you have a license) or the Chinese free software Woookao. This software for Windows and Mac is hosted in China, outside the US jurisdiction and has been reported to work well with software like DVDFab and will likely also work well with TDMore.
