Technics reveals music service offering 24 bits 192 kHz FLAC encoded tracks

Technics will start an online music service offering 24-bits FLAC encoded tracks. The store will first be available in the United Kingdom and Germany. Technics Tracks will enable users to store their purchased music on different devices through an online locker.

How large the music collection of Technics Tracks will be is unknown, but according to the service it will be at least ten thousands tracks with a sample rate of 192kHz.  Besides the FLAC music, the service will also offer more an extended collection in the regular 16bits format with a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz. Technics Tracks is based on the music platform 7Digital which is available in 40 countries and also powers music services of Onkyo, Samsung and Blackberry.

Technics works together with 7Digital to profile itself as high-end audio brand again. In September Panasonic announced the brand would come back with the release of several Hifi sets which should be available in stores in December.

In 2015 the Technics brands exists for 50 years and during that year there should be more Technics released. In 2010 Panasonic pulled the plug on the brand of which the best known product was the SL1200 MK-2 DJ table which had become a standard for DJs.
