The drive with model number HDWF180EZSTA features an internal shock-sensor that should prevent any data loss when the disk is e.g. transported. When the shock-sensor detects the HDD is moved, the drive slider does not make contact with the disk.

Toshiba's X300 series is the company's high performance range. The 8TB X300 will become available in June with a MSRP of €339.95  ($ 380).

The Japanese electronics giant isn't the first to make a 8TB HDD available, also Seagate and WD sell drives with this capacity.
