Twitter is down and/or suffers from service disruption

The popular social network Twitter is currently suffering from a service disruption. The service that allows users to post 140 character messages is either not working or slow for users. Although Twitter isn't down globally, several uptime tracking services report that the site has issues.

The company itself is not reporting any issues. No new updates concerning the issues have been posted on their blog, status page or official account. The issue has started about 30 minutes ago and while some users report nothing is wrong or even that the site is back online, other users are still not able to access Twitter. Access to Twitter is not possible through the website and both Android and iOS apps.

Users for which the site is reachable report that they often receive the message, ""Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing - we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon."

The users that report Twitter is down come from Germany, France, South Africa,  South America, the United Kingdom, Yemen and many, many more countries. The first reports coming in state the possible cause is an issue with the Domain Name System (DNS).
