Users complain about bricked Lumnia phones when going back from Windows 10 to Windows Phone 8.1

Users of the Lumnia 520 and 525 report that their smartphone is bricked after they return to Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 10 Technical Preview. Microsoft has therefore temporarily withdrawn the Windows 10 builds for the Lumnia 520.

Users report that when they try to return their Lumnia 520 to Windows Phone 8.1, the phone remains in flash mode and doesn't boot anymore. Microsoft has therefore decided to no longer distribute Windows 10 build 10051 to Lumnia 520 and 525 owners.

Microsoft recently released the Technical Preview of Windows 10 for the Lumnia 520 but the build isn't stable and consistent. Many users have issues with the software which is why many want to return to the default Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.

The Lumnia 520 and 525 were released in 2013. Other Lumnia models appear to have no issues when users try to use the Recovery Tool to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 from Windows 10 Technical Preview.
