ViewSonic introducing $200 Android Tablet

The idea of a $200.00 touch-pad isn't news. In fact, soon enough we will be seeing the Kobo Vox and Kindle Fire hit store shelves, both of which are priced at $200.00 respectively. But that isn't stopping ViewSonic from tossing its name into the tablet hat by introducing the ViewPad 7e. The 7 in that title possibly standing for 7-inches, which is the size of the tablet (keeping it on par with the Kindle Fire and the Kobo Vox).

The ViewPad 7e seems to be holding it own with its features. The tablet will showcase a 1-Gigahertz ARM A8 Processor, 512 Megabytes of DDR2 RAM, run the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, and carry 4 gigabytes of space. But will also include a MicroSD card slot that will allow users to beef up their memory (to 32 GB max) if they see fit. As mentioned before it is encased in a 7-inch screen, with a supposedly large bezel to it. According to the ViewSonic website, the tablet's touch-screen is tuned to both touch, and handwriting via a stylus.

The website also gives insight into some key features like a 3.0 Megapixel camera, Adobe Flash 10.3 with built in support, and of course access to the ever-expanding Android app market. All of this with a 5-hour battery life, and Bluetooth compatibility. ViewSonic also hints at what they call ViewScene 3D, an addition to the Android OS that will allow users to literally customize they layout and design of their "tablet desktop." Keeping everything neat, clean, and accessible in a "holographic like design." The ViewPad 7e also offers some top selling apps like Tune-In Radio, Dropbox, and MediaFly, all of which are pre-loaded onto the tablet for use right out of the box.

The ViewSonic website states that the tablet is a contender that is perfect for Web Surfing, applications, e-Reading, and gaming. This is a good thing, considering that the new Kindle Fire (which is based as an E-Reader) is making its debut with some heavy promises of performing the same tasks. ViewSonic has not yet commented on a release date for the new tablet, but it is safe to say that it will be sometime soon in order to keep up with the other $200.00 tablets that are hitting the market this holiday season.
