WD releases 4 TB desktop HDD with dual core processor

Western Digital has announced its latest high capacity desktop hard disk drive (HDD) part of the WD Black series. The 3.5" drive has a capacitiy of 4 TeraByte and has some additional features to make it as fast as possible and it has been equipped with 64 MB cache memory and connects to the PC using the SATA III interface. And already common in PCs, phones and tablets, the HDD has a dual core processor.

To get at 4 TB the HDD has 800 GB per platter that spin at 7200 rounds per minute and it comes with a couple of features to make it more reliable, faster, more silent and energy efficient.  The drive has a MSRP of $339,- and should be available now .
