Why not? PNY announces USB drive with whistle

23 May 12 11:48 by in category Uncategorized

It could be possible that there is a scenario where you would have loved to be able to whistle on your USB stick, but we really wonder when. To make this rare event possible, the company PNY has announced its latest product going by the name of USB Flash Drive Whistle Attaché. While this is basically a normal USB flash drive, it’s also a fully functional whistle. And if you look at their website, it’s not just that, it also comes with “beads attached for wearing or fashion purpose”.

The Taiwanese company doesn’t only have USB flash drives with whistle’s, they also feature sticks that are water resistant, look like yelly beans and many sticks with different designs. Their latest whistle USB flash drive comes with a 5 year warranty and comes in the capacities 4,8, 16 and 32GB.

Imagine you're in the park at 2:00 a.m., minding your own business and playing some righteous Angry Birds on your netbook. Then BOOM, a bad man jumps out of the bushes and tells you to give him all your money. Oh, and he wants your netbook, too. Do you do it? Hell, no. You quickly pull out your thumb drive from the USB port and blow into that sucker like a champ. Cops come running, catch the bad guy, and you get to keep that awesome netbook.

The End.

Yep, that's pretty much how I picture it happening. Except I'm rich so I have a really expensive slate tablet.

I wonder if the 5 year warranty covers the whistle .

I know I would love to hear someone with one of these whistle drives to play the only tune they know for 8 hours at work.

Not sure, but I just took a look on their site and my imagination went nuts. I'm looking at the whistle part, then start thinking how easy it would be to throw in a flashlight. Oh, and a pull-out blade to make it like a Swiss Army USB drive/whistle/survival knife. Damn, I'd pay big money to get one of those. Screw you, John Rambo !!

That would make a lot more sense than this product, especially if its battery recharges from the USB power. I think a combined USB rechargeable torch/pen drive would be good seller, as the replacement batteries for a keyring flashlight are often quite difficult to get, never mind prying it open to change its batteries.

Brilliant idea, you should patent it.

^ They probably did, but it would topple the PC over.

As for the whistle, all those sharp things in the face would keep the courts busy.
