Firefox developer Brian Bondy has posted on his blog that Mozilla is getting ready to release a Windows 8 Metro Preview version of their browser. The browser should be hybrid, as it is a combined classic Desktop and Metro browser. The preview should be ready in Q3 of 2012 and the developer thinks a beta version should come out in the last quarter of this year.
The browser seems to be a bit schizophrenic as the Desktop and Metro interface will be split and the latter will have no support for Add-ons in this initial releases. This should be fixed however, when the Metro part of the browser matures. The Windows 8 Metro release will also have a feature that allow you to send pages to the Desktop interface and some synchronization between the two interfaces will be implemented.
The screenshot above comes directly from the developers and is likely a mockup of the how the browser will look like. More shots of the mockups are posted here. How do you think it looks?
