Windows 8 will be available to the general public on October 26, 2012. Earlier this month, Microsoft said that it would be sometime in October, but a specific date was announced by Stephen Sinofsky at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting. Windows 8 will be offered in upgrade versions and pre-installed on computers on this date.
