Windows Blue leaked - Metro, Metro and more Metro

An early version of Windows Blue has been leaked. On screenshots of the Windows 8 update a lot of changes to the appearance of the Metro interface are visible. In the update to Window 8 it's possible to change the size of the live tiles on the home screen of Metro and like on Windows Phone it's also possible to pick smaller tiles.

The update also includes an option to change the color of each tile and the possibility to run Windows 8 application side to side. With this new feature it's possible to display up to  four applications at once.

Also the appearance of default Metro applications has been changed. Screenshots published on a Polish forum show a new look for the calculator and alarm clock.  Microsoft also includes Internet Explorer 11 with the Blue update.

The company has also made changes to the settings in the Charms bar. It's now possible to change more settings while working in the Metro interface, before many of them could only be changed in the configuration screen in desktop mode.

The screenshots also reveal a new gesture that can be used to control the operating system. The new touch gesture works in both the desktop and Metro interface. By swiping up the Metro interface will show a list of applications while in desktop mode this shows a list of application shortcuts.

It's expected that the Windows Blue update will be released this summer, later also Windows Phone should also receive an update that is called Windows Blue.
