Backup NOW 4
NTI Backup Now! 4 is a file-level backup and recovery program that offers an easy way to archive your files onto CDs or DVDs.
To start Backup Now click on “backup” on the main GUI and select “files and folders”

This will open the Backup program. In this window we selected the files and folder to archive.

Having selected our files and folders we then next clicked on step 2 in the EasySteps Pane which provides us the window to select to backup to removable discs, Local or Network or a Remote FTP Server. We chose to backup to Disc using our Lite-On 165H6S.
Once we made our selections and named or backup (optional), set the write speed and Write Method we clicked on the next step; the Step 3 Button in the EasySteps Pane:

Here we are afforded the opportunity to select “How to Backup”. We chose to backup all selected files since this is our first backup. The options to also do your backups for “New and changed files only” via Differential or incremental is a nice feature of Backup NOW.

Now that we made our selections on how to backup, we select Button 4 in the EasySteps Pane and our backup processed.

Backup NOW will allow you to save your backup profile and you may schedule this backup to run as seen in the window “Scheduler” by selecting the Schedule Button in the EasySteps Pane.

Restore is available by clicking on the Restore button of the main GUI, where we selected the files and folders to restore.

Having made our selection of files to restore we clicked on button 2 of the EasySteps Pane to chose “where to restore” our files to.

Next we select button 3 in the EasySteps Pane to select “how to restore”; we selected to “Replace a file only if its backup copy has a newer date”.

To start the restore we clicked on the Start Button in the EasySteps Pane. Once the restore completed we were presented with the “Restore Completed Successfully” window.

Disc Spanning with Backup NOW 4:
Disc spanning allows you to automatically write more than a disc’s worth of data files onto multiple discs. You do not need to create multiple layouts to burn multiple discs – CD & DVD Maker organizes your files to fit into the disc size you choose, and it lets you burn all the files you want in one session. In addition, your files are kept in their original format – disc spanning does not use compression or file splitting.
To create discs using disc spanning:
1. Make sure you have a Data CD or Data DVD layout open.
2. Select the desired disc size from the drop-menu box near the bottom of the layout window.
3. Add files to your layout as you normally would when building a Data CD or DVD layout.
Note:
Disc spanning is not activated until you have more data than can fit on the chosen disc size. Once you have added enough files such that they do not fit on one disc, the CD Info bar is updated to show how much space is taken on multiple discs.
4. Click Step 2 in the EasySteps® toolbar, or click the Write Disc button on the toolbar. You will be asked whether you want to use disc spanning to break up your CD/DVD layout over a number of discs. Answer "Yes" to continue.
5. Once your layout is verified, the burning process will continue similar to a normal Data CD or DVD session, except during the actual writing process you will be prompted to insert additional blank media.
