Creating a Video CD/Super VCD Slideshow

Slideshow VCD and SVCD with and without Audio are new to this release.  CD & DVD-Maker will allow you to create a list of image files (bmp, gif and jpg files are currently supported) and specify the time to display each image. Optionally, add your favourite music (CD-DA, mp3, wma and wav formats are currently supported) and tell CD & DVD-Maker to burn your slideshow disc in VCD or SVCD format. It is that simple. You select the images and tunes and CD & DVD-Maker creates your Slideshow CD that can be shared with your family and friends on their home computer or on many of the newer DVD players on the market today.

Note:  Not all DVD players can play VCD or SVCD discs. Please check the specifications of your player to be sure that your DVD player will play VCD or SVCD on CD-R or CD-RW media.

We created a new VCD/SVCD Slideshow layout by clicking the Photo Icon and selecting the Slideshow VCD/SVCD option from the pop-up menu.  For our review we will create a VCD Slideshow.

With the Explorer Window open we selected the photos to be used in our slideshow and entered them into the “Slideshow Track Layout Pane” by dragging and dropping them.

Once all of the slides were added to the show we set the time for each photo to play by selecting the first slide and then right clicking on it and selecting properties; we set the time for each photo at 5 seconds and selected this as the default for all slides in our show.

The option to include an Audio Background is available and we decided to include the audio to test this function.

Click on button 2 in the EasySteps Pane and you will be presented with the Explorer and Audio Layout Panes.  Here we selected the audio file we wished to use and added it by dragging and dropping it into the Audio Layout Pane.  We also checked the option to have this audio file “repeat” for the duration of the show.

Once the above settings and selections were made we chose our Writer (destination).

To start the Write Process we clicked on Button 3 in the EasySteps Pane.

Which brought up the “Processing Window”; once the processing was completed (approximately 30 seconds) we were presented with the familiar “Write Window” where we made our selections and the Processing and Writing began.

The completed slideshow plays back perfectly on our test system using the DVD Player which is included in the software package as well as our standalone DVD player and 42 inch TV.
