DVD+R/RW Writing performance

   

The specifications of this drive tell us that it should write DVD±R at 8x and DVD+RW/-RW at 8x/6x. In this part, we will measure the write time for various types of DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW discs. We will also focus on write quality and media compatibility.

 

DVD+R media compatibility and write quality:

In these tests we will be using a Lite-On SHW-165P6S with firmware MS0P along with KProbe to measure the disc quality. We will also be using the Optiarc AD-7173A with firmware 1-01 along with CD-Speed for our read-back tests.

Very nice review , very nice equipment. One thing bothers me about plextor. How come all new mother boards and chipsets tend to include less ide controllers and all going on sata and this new equipment , state of the art , etc uses such an obsolete ide controller. I promissed my self that my next burner would be a sata one . Guess not this one
