DDR4 by now should be the only choice for all of us that have an Intel Z170 or X99 motherboard, and a few things have happened since the very first time that I got my hands on the first Crucial DDR4 RAM kit. The first and most welcomed is the fact that the prices went down, so larger capacities are more affordable, but also their speed has increased from 2133MHz to 3000MHz and in some cases a little higher.
So as you might expect it was time for Crucial to introduce their new Ballistix Tactical DDR4 RAM, these are available in a single module, double module, and quad module. Their speed starts at 2666MHz, going up to 3000MHz, and they are available as 4GB and 8GB modules. As always for pricing you can check your local reseller. In the picture below you can find out a little more about the new Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR4 RAM.
A big thanks to Crucial for sending me the 3000MHz 4x8GB kit for this review. You can find more about Crucial and their products by visiting their website, here.
Now I can start this review, and as always I will begin with the packaging and its contents.
Crucial Ballistix Tactival 3000MHz 4x8GB DDR4 RAM
Let’s take a closer look the package of the Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR4 RAM and its contents.
The packaging for the Crucial Ballistix Tacical DDR4 is exactly the same as the previous kits that I have tested. The main thing that catches your eye is the RAM but there's also a sticker that has the information about your kit.
The appearance of the Crucial Ballistix Tactical RAM is simple and the gun metal grey with the white lettering makes it look very impressive.
On the other side we find two stickers, one that has all the information on speed and timings, and other informing us that is made in China.
Let’s head to the next page where we take a look at our testing methods and the review PC.
