The Maxell eSATA & USB 32GB SSD is a small and stylish drive that performs good in USB mode. The writing performance in eSATA mode goes along with the specifications and the benchmarks showed good results for both, reading and writing performance.

The drive is also relative cheap, a 32GB USB stick with comparable performance is not much cheaper.

The main negative points:

Apart from a not really great reading performance in eSATA mode when doing real world tests was not much negative to find about the drive. Ok some can say that the additional power requirement is a negative point but to those, it can be said that is not a fault from Maxell. More it is a lack of Power-over-eSATA support from the motherboard manufacturers. On better Laptops that support this specification the drive works pretty well without an additional power source connected.
