LED lightbulb technology has come on to the point where they give off light quality very close to the humble incandescent lightbulb, but even with all the recent advancements in technology including clear LED filament light bulbs, they are still no match for the rich golden ambiance and the old fashioned style filaments, when unlit, such as the original light bulbs invented by Joseph Swan and Thomas Edison.

These retro light bulbs are designed to mimic the appearance of light bulbs that were available in the early 1900’s which had long carbon or ductile tungsten filaments, and handmade glass bulbs. The GLS shape bulb includes what appears to mimic a sealed vacuum tube at the top and the glass is tinted brown, probably to give the appearance of antique glass or to deepen the warm orange glow when lit. The spherical shaped bulb is not tinted.

Both have thickened glass to protect against shattering during transport and when handled which also probably puts them in the class of a rough service lamp to escape the incandescent light bulb ban in some regions. Each bulb has a golden brass base Edison Screw connector designed to fit an E27 lamp fitting.
