NAS devices are storage devices that are connected to your (local home) network. In this way anybody in your home/office can use it to store and share data. NAS devices are also a great place to back-up every computer in your house, provided you pick one with enough storage capacity. Some more advanced NAS devices are even able to act as a audio/video streaming device.
