A TV that can deliver a ‘progressive scan’ image is a TV that will offer you a more film-like experience than normal video. When shopping for a new TV and DVD player the salesperson will tell you that it is impossible to go for less than progressive scan. Don’t listen to him if you do not have a HD-upgradable or HDTV since without a capable TV, a progressive scan DVD player makes no sense.
