Overview

Deep down, Clash Royale is a game about strategy. The whole point is to outmaneuver and outsmart the opponent. Even those with superior troops or better cards can sometimes undervalue lower players and lose to a well-designed attack.

Clash Royale is a spin-off of one of the greatest games ever. Taking the Clash of Clans universe and injecting it into a very fast-paced and competitive online card gathering strategy game in real-time.

Tips to Win All Your Battles on Clash Royale

Don't Be Afraid to Wait

It can be a tense moment to look at an open field and wait for an attack from your opponent. If your enemy has any units out there, it is even more tense and they may end up crushing your towers.

You may just want to rush out your troops to stop the bleeding / fill the hole, but that's not always the right option. A full, concerted attack with complimentary units will often be more active. So, if you can wait for it, do so. However, if you're in the middle of a war that you're winning, you might want to click it.

Don't Be Afraid to Take Damage

You win if you take the King tower. Keep that in mind. So maybe you have a tower down and your troops have moved on to the opposing king's tower. Your opponent, meanwhile, is working on one of your exterior towers.

Let them! That means their troops will be far from their King tower, and they will find it hard to reach yours as quickly as you can reach theirs. So take the hit and even lose the roof— all the while, keep your eyes on the prize.

It's All About Elixir

Clash Royale is kind of an RTS, and all RTS's are resource-based games, basically. The resource in question here is an elixir, and a lot of your decisions should be taken based on that basic definition. If you can do six elixir worth of damage to enemy troops using a four elixir fireball spell, do so.

If your four musketeers with an elixir will only get trounced by the Pekka backed by archers, don't put it out. If your five goblin elixir hut can produce goblins worth more than give elixirs, then put it down. Your opponent will have the same amount of elixir as you, so your challenge is to make more effective uses of that elixir.

Know Your Cards

This one is quite obvious, but it's the game's most important task. Learn your cards and set up your deck with lots of complimentary card sets. Use ranged units to back up melee units, know which groups are better for other groups and which ones are better for damaging towers. Also know which groups will be taken out quickly if dropped in the wrong spot.

Start building a deck with lots of complementary pieces after you start learning all their strengths and weaknesses. Make a couple, and play with them.

Keep Your Eye On The Clock

Elixir starts filling up twice as fast at 60 seconds and things get a little hectic. Whoever has more crowns at the end of three minutes wins. If the two players are tied, then they win the next title.

Use all of that for your benefit. When you see the end of the match approaching, you're both working on the King tower, you might want to make a sneak attack on one of the outer towers to snag an extra crown before the end.

Conclusion

There are all sorts of ways to win. So, it is your task to be aware at any given moment of which one makes the most sense.
