Background of the Corvette

To begin with, let get a little background on the Corvette. Casually also referred to as the ''Vette,'' the Corvette is a coupe car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet. The Corvette has had a history of more than 60 years of production with eight design generations.

Introduced by General Motors in 1953, the Corvette was the first-ever American sports car to be ever produced. Corvette eventually went on to be one of the greatest muscle cars of all time.

Corvette 2020 ''The C8''

The Corvette 2020 is the eighth generation model of the Corvette. The car made its official debut on the 18th of July in 2019 at the Kennedy Space Center, while the production began in February 2020. The coupe has everything, starting from the mid-engine design to the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

A Ferocious Beast

The C8 is the first-ever mid-engine Corvette since the introduction of the Corvette. Under the hood of the car is a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Again breaking the traditions, for the time since 1953 the Corvette will offer the drivers with an eight-speed dual-clutch Tremec automatic transmission in the sole gearbox. The all-new Chevy C8's Z51 performance package is designed to achieve a speed of 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 194mph.

The C8, like other new performance vehicles, has different driving modes that change the ride and handling experience of the car. Along with the contemporary Tour, Sports, Weather, and Track modes, the C8 has added two new settings called MyMode and Z mode. Both driving modes are highly-configurable and allow drivers to customize many performance specs of the vehicle.
