A Ferocious Beast
The C8 is the first-ever mid-engine Corvette since the introduction of the Corvette. Under the hood of the car is a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Again breaking the traditions, for the time since 1953 the Corvette will offer the drivers with an eight-speed dual-clutch Tremec automatic transmission in the sole gearbox. The all-new Chevy C8's Z51 performance package is designed to achieve a speed of 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 194mph.
The C8, like other new performance vehicles, has different driving modes that change the ride and handling experience of the car. Along with the contemporary Tour, Sports, Weather, and Track modes, the C8 has added two new settings called MyMode and Z mode. Chevy had previously promised that the new Corvette would be priced under $60,000. Fulfilling the same promise, the new 2020 Corvette has an official base price of just $59,995.
